FUNCTION: Releases finished
product from cutting die while
removing unwanted waste in an
orderly manner.

Sponged Cork
RUBBER
MICROCELL: High density very
resilient closed cell products
generally used in tight areas of
scrap ejection such as slots or
punches. Expands greatest when
compressed.
EXTRUSIONS: Geometrically
formed products, dense, for specific
application. Punches, Crease assist.
SPONGED CORK: Cork and rubber
compound for isolated crush of
package elements to benefit post
glue applications.
EJECTION RUBBER
CLOSED CELL: Individual tiny
nitrogen gas bubbles. Recovers
quickly. Withstands heat and
friction of soft anvil cutting. When
compressed it will expand laterally.
If over compressed (beyond 50 %),
bubbles can burst creating “dead”
rubber.
OPEN CELL: Has visible
connecting cell structure like
sponge. Heat and UV sensitive. Not
recommended for high speed presses
or any soft anvil diecutting. Does
not expand laterally like closed
cell when compressed.
