Plastic (UHMW) scraper blades have been
designed for today’s flexographics. The
blade is positioned with the bevel of the
blade facing the ink supply. These blades
come in varying thickness and width’s
depending on the use. They are supplied on
rolls of 30 meter – 100 ft.
Benefits:
UHMW Blades last up 5 times longer than
steel blades
UHMW Blades will not cut hands No
special gloves or thick rags are needed.
Wash up is faster and easier
The hot edge of the steel blade is
eliminated. The blade will wear in a
straight line and maintain print quality
UHMW Blades run cooler, water based ink
will not dry up in the cells and cause
striations or low density problems
Steel blades can “melt” into the cells,
causing rings and striations. UHMW
blades will not do this. They are a must
on ceramic rolls.

Stepped blade
Sizes:
1,5 / 0,75 mm tip
(0.060”/0.030” tip)
2,0 / 1,0 mm tip
(0.080”/0.040” tip)
The “Stepped” edge is best
where a thin tip is needed
to
help shear inks and an
increased thickness
(rigidity) is
needed to match clamp bar
without the need of a shim.
The increased rigidity comes
from its design where the
clamping portion can be
thicker than the metering
tip.
